- I was dignosed with bladder cancer late may 2007 & 2 weeks later it was into hospital for afull gutting! (bladder removal & full hyterectomy) needless to say my best friend was my clicker (morphine) - then contracted pneumonia! try having a physio lean on ur chest to push up the phlegm when uv just been filleted! Anyhoo, back at work, drinking & all the rest & try very hard to not let it get in my way. Everyone around me knows, have been on hols last year & went swimming in an outdoor public pool so I guess my next big challenge is if I move to another job where nobody knows!

- hey hun, just wanna say thanks for choosing to open up to me. i dont know how good i am at giving advice but i'll give it a go! you have to tell your sister how you feel, get it off your chest, tell her everything you told me cos im sorry to say it hun but if you dont you'll regret it for a long time. and if its to hard to tell her to her face, write her a letter!
you've been thru so much and it sounds like your sister was your rock and its a frightening thing the thought of your rock leaving you but you've made it thru all this, ur a survivor!
and to tell u the truth im so greatful you choose to talk to me (drunk or not!) and i hope i cud help, its what friends r for! amanda xxx

- hey alison, hows u? aberdeen, not far away at all! your job sounds great! my dress was the first one i seen and first i tried on! i was an easy customer!
glad ur managing and that u seem very positive, thats cool.
im only 2-3 months post op and already im doing great, the stoma (bob!) and pouch side of things have been fine, just getting the physical strengh back takes abit longer, more so with me having m.s. getting there tho!
my husbands great with the whole thing, doesnt phase him at all, he even helps me with my pouch changes.
its nice to talk to others with ostomys, especially urostomys!
