Hi Erica do i call you Erica-Marie or just Erica? i read your profile a while back and just wanted to say hi and see how you are doing, let us know. must be great living next to lake Lake Erie!
My story is similar to yours. I've had Crohn's since I was 9, and my ileostomy since I was 15. I, too, had a jpouch (for about 4 years) and it was destroyed by Crohn's.
BTW- I'm not that far from you. I live in Fairport Harbor, Ohio - about 45 minutes west of the Ohio/Pennsylvania border.
Hey Erica, are you out of the hospital yet, i'm intersted in what they had to say for themseves hehe, and i hope you never got stung for the taxi fare lol.
hope evrything is ok lass.x
Hi Erica-Marie, your compliment on my picture must go to Steve who supplied it and I must agree with you it looks so appealing can't see a picture of me matching it. My heart goes out to you for being a sufferer of Crohns since your teenage years, it can't have been easy and unlike surgery for Ulcerated Colitis where one is completely cleared of the disease it is a different result with Crohns and I do wish you long term remission spells so that you can enjoy life. Take care.

howdy! yea, hookah works wonders for me (and it doesnt help that my fav. hookah bar is just two blocks from my house. good for a quick getaway)
How'd you hear bout this site?
I have an ileostomy...due to having Crohns Disease. I got sick at the age of 13, and at 15 made the decision to get a permanant bag. It'll be 12 years this March that I've had it. I had a temp bag for a bit of time...and a J-Pouch...but the Crohns Disease just basically destroyed that and I ended up with few options...which is why I chose the ileostomy. I have my good days and bad days...but overall...I don't allow it to control my life.

About Me.
Well...let's see!!! (^_^) I'm 27...live in the United States. Lived for quite awhile in New York City...now I'm in Pennsylvania...right on Lake Erie. I miss the city though.
I have Crohns Disease...and have had it since I was 13...so it's been 14 years now. I was quite sick for a little over 7 years...then I went into remission for almost 7 years, fell out of it, and I'm just now going back into remission. I still get sick a few days here and there, but overall it seems to be improving.
I deal with all this on my own mostly. I don't really know anyone around here with these issues...and generally would like to get to know people who "get it." I've been having a hard time dealing lately...
Anything about me you'd like to know...just ask!!! I'll answer anything... (^_^)
