About Me.
ello (:
if yu dont know, my name is olivia and i am 15 years old. i also cant spell (no im just kidding, i just have my own "computer language") anyways.. i have had a J-Pouch for about a month and a half now, and i feel absolutely super! i usually get cramps when i need to use the restroom, but that can eaasilly be taken care of. the scar where my ileostomy used to be is for the most part healed up, there are still some stitches that havent disintigrated and i need to get them cut on my checkup on September 20th.
well as of now, ive been starting school! 10th gradee! and im taking half days this week but next week ill start whole days to see how i can handle them. i missed my friends sooooo much and i tell them about my surgery because i sorttof WANT them to know. it kidof shows that im strong, and even unique! we're all unique! but anyways.. im in the environmental club so ya'll shuld definately remember to reduce reuse recycle (just a random shoutout hehe)
now i just wana say... i have had both surguries (the colostomy and the reversal) so if yu wuld like to ask me annnyythinngg, feel free! im only 15 but im sure i can say something that will help yu out somehow (:
im gona try to update this "about me" thingy as a blog but there are no guarentees cus i always get caught up in school work or wutever, but i will definately try!
and i may not have the time to look at everyones page, so if yu wuld like to tell me yur story, id LOVE to hear (:
i must be goin tho folks, hope to talk to yu soon (:
luv yu!

yea sure ill tell u about it when i finally get it done. My bag doesnt leak but i have trouble with being allergic to adhesive things. a threee stage surgery is where they do it in 3 stages, ive had the first one so far and they took out the main bit of my large intestine and gave me the bag, the second one will be to remove the rest and create my pouch and then the third one is to 'connect' everything back up and make sure there is no leaks and to get rid of my bag, im meant to have them finished by the end of the year because i want them finished before summer but i dont think that it will happen

Hi Olivia ok i am finally getting round to telling you my story you have to read it now it tuck me ages to write lol.
It all started last year in march when i noticed i was not feeling good and had a lack of energy, nothing too bad about a month later i was suffering from stomach pain needing to go to the toilet a lot and bleeding so time for the doctor. i went to see my GP (doctor) and explained the symptoms and strait away he said you may have UC but told me not to google it because i might scare myself, he also arranged for me to see a specialist in a 2-3 weeks.
the condition was getting worse and my doctor would not prescribe anything i saw the specialist and he checked me over, said he could do nothing until i had a endoscopy which was about 6 weeks waiting list. The UC was progressively getting worse i was starting to lose weight, in a lot of pain at times and the bleeding, so back to the doctor. he would not give me anything in case it masked my symptoms but realised i was in a bad way this went on for the next 6 weeks with my doctor trying to speed the waiting list up he was concerned because of the weight i had lost and how ill i was(he did admit me to the hospital to see a specialist waited 8 hours for 5 min examination and steroids). By the time i went for the endoscopy i could only just walk and was in a lot of pain the specialist said i would not feel a thing in the procedure! Well he was very wrong this was extremely painful even with a sedative but at least i saw my insides. so the specialist gave me asacol and i had started steroids a few weeks before he kind of fobbed me off. Back home and all i can do is lay on the sofa the drugs did nothing and again i was getting still worse, oh yeah and this was my last year at uni so it put an end to that for now. Back to the doctors lost more weight, in pain, vomiting, bleeding and the doctor did something wow pred foam steroids but did nothing.
So this is now about the start of June and because i saw a specialist perversely i had to go for a follow up visit back at the hospital, she tuck one look at me and said we have to get you into hospital now, you should of been in 2 weeks ago you may also need an operation. This worried me but at least they were now taking me a bit more seriously. Started on lots more drugs and they were confident the meds would work everything started moving quickly which was a relief and finally pain killers which they moved up to morphine soon after, they also said they would give me a week to improve but surgeons came to visit me and specialist nurses so i knew things were not good. tests and x ray no improvement only got still worse so after that week they said we can not wait any longer because otherwise i would not be able to take the surgery due to my weakness. i knew i wouldn’t last another week so i was actually looking forward to the surgery. Went into surgery and had a spinal or epidural which ever it is and put to sleep. came out feeling ok until about 45 mins after and the spinal painkiller stopped working, this was incredible pain full operation pain difficult to explain how immensely terrific the sensation was i could only just stand it and was having difficulty staying conscious did not wont to pass out because i did not know were i was going if that happened. they got me on morphine PCA and that tuck about 8 hours to start controlling the pain properly i felt so much better then actually felt good. so feeling good lasted about 2 days then my intestine froze and stopped working making me vomit and i became delirious things went very strange everything warped, no memory for the next 2-3 days woke up being moved out of step down to a normal ward were i stayed for the next 9 days still very ill and recovery was slow because of the steroids but getting better. still not eating they wanted to put a tube down my nose to feed me because i had lost about a third of my body weight and i was slim to start with, manage to avoid this though. finally went home with my staples in, a district nurse visited me every day and then tuck the staples out, shortly after the wound split open (skin) and got infected but cleared up with antibiotics and has left me with a broad scar, its some time tight if I have been sitting, eh well.
nearly done honestly. recovered slowly and started walking a bit more but still had a lot of pain they did not know why so i went for more tests inconclusive so on more drugs probably my intestine getting use to it all. This is now probably november and i get pain bad about once a week. january very bad pain ambulance back into hospital with a bowl obstruction sweat morphine! So here for about 3 days and there is talk of surgery 4th day the obstruction cleared and no surgery back home thankfully. i have a parastomal hernia which caused the obstruction i later learned.
so now i am pretty good, still get a bit of pain nothing to moan about though.
Going back to see my surgeon this month thinking of the reversal start of next year not looking forward to that!
wow that was quite a lot of writing not done that much since i was at uni.
hope your recovered, and are well Olivia
thanks matt
