Hey sarah, yeh you need to send one of your pouches and the fabric to linda, her address is shown on her card at http://www.thelifegoesonfoundation.org.uk/page/pouch-covers-2
Tis great that your still up for the climb, so far there is about 13 climbers which is cool. Yeh the shed is nearly finished, only the door to build and glaze the windows, but the weather has been a bit crap these past few days, so i will finish it when it's dry again.
Hi Sarah, Just had a wee email from Linda about your pouch cover, she's asking if you still want one made. Do you?, have you still got that piece of silk you want one made from?.
Hope you are well lass, haven't heard from you in a while, i been shed building for the last week lol, the ostomy appeal office is nearly finished Yay!.
You still on for the climb? so far we got about 13 climbers so it looks like it might be a good climb.
Chat soon i hope

Hi Sarah i am doing well. so your going for the reversal i think most young people do go down that route. its difficult trying to get on with a normal life, i say normal with the bag. personally i feel that having the reversal is a way of leaving what colitis did behind and get on with things as i used to hopefully.
hope your well, matt.

Hey Sarah, how's you lass, i ain't been up to much actually, just the usual dog walking n stuff, yeh today is a cracker huh?, Hope this finds you well lass.x
Hi Sarah! Well, whatever happens, we just want you to be happy and healthy, so if that means reversal or ileo, then I say kick it! I've tried lots of things to thicken the output. I don't eat a ton, I don't think, but I do the best I can for where I am in my life.
So I'm 26 and I was diagnosed with colitis when I was 17! What a young, tender age to be diagnosed with such an embarrassing disease, right?
I saw you're planning on doing the Ben Nevis climb, that is so awesome! I would love to do it, I'm trying to buy a house here in Colorado, so maybe by a stroke of sheer luck it might work for me to fly over.
Hi Sarah! Thanks so much for your kind words! I am thrilled with my reversal. The biggest thing is that I don't have to worry or deal with the bag... that was very hard for me, as it is for most people. HUGE adjustment, bag problems, skin irritation problems, etc etc etc. The other thing that was hard is that I'm very petite, and there wasn't a bag that fit me well enough. I should have gotten a children's sized bag. Anyways, now... I can really do anything I want. My fave thing is I can wear whatever I want. I like tighter clother, which I couldn't wear when I had the bag.
The biggest change is that I basically have to poo all day long. Before a flare of UC/when I was in remission, I pooed once a day. Now I poo between 6 and 10 times a day, based on what I eat and how much water I drink. That is the hardest thing for me, as finding a bathroom can be problematic (I don't really like going to places I'm unfamiliar with because of that), as well as the fact that my bum is pretty much always sore (I've found things to help with that too). There are some foods that go through me faster than others... tomato sauce containing foods, indian and asian foods, etc. But then there's some that really thicken things up. Everyone is totally different. I can't eat corn... that is the one thing that REALLY hurts my tummy.
I went for a run on Wednesday --- 5 MILES! That's the longest I've run since I got sick last year. And I've learned working out in the morning is much better than the afternoon, as I can run a longer period of time without feeling that "get to the bathroom NOW" feeling.
I often have diarrhea, as the colon removes water from the stool, and the small intestine doesn't. I'm in a constant quandary trying to figure out how to "thicken" things up better, but I mostly don't worry about it, as I drink a lot of water. People can get pouchitis with the j-pouch (most do), but it's nowhere near a colitis/crohn's flare, and there's good treatment for that. I LOVE MY POUCH!
If you have other questions, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask away. Also, Steve has tons of advice regarding reversals and what's good for you and what's not, so he's a good person to ask advice to as well.
Haha, no worries lass, if you look at the box on the top right of the web page where you sign into the site, well, once you have signed in the text in the box changes, your name should appear in the box with the option to sign out underneath it. Below that is your private inbox and the last in the list is settings.
Go into settings, and on that page is you personal settings i.e email address, change your password, full name and then profile photo, click on the wee camera logo and a wee box pops out, with the option to upload an image from your computor, click the we cirlce till it's blue and THEN hit the browse button, lol. find the photo you wish and then click open, which will send the file to the wee box that the camera logo opened, and then hit done.
The wee camera box should disappear, AND THEN SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE AND SAVE THE SETTING.x
